Inspired From Edgar Allen Poe' poem that we all know an love "The Raven" The reference image was converted in to a negative, to represent the negativity of the Narrator. (The narrator who keeps asking questions when he know the Raven will continue to give him the same answer "Nevermore" Expecting a different answer with each question he falls further in to despair.) I then painted the negative twice. One in a very realistic fashion, and then once again in a very rough sketchy manner. (This represents the the before and after state of the narrator. Happily in love, and then distraught over his loss.) I then combined, or overlayed the two using a difference method to get the final painting.
